Pakistani people were angry after the US Judiciary’s verdict in Dr Aafia Siddiqui case.
LAHORE: US ambassador Anne W Peterson called on the Quaid PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif in Chief Minister Punjab’s House on Monday and discussed the current situation of the region, Indian proposal to Pakistan for dialogue, London Conference and the US dialogue with Afghan Taliban.
According to reliable sources, the Quaid PML-N discussed the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and told the US Envoy that Pakistani people were angry after the US Judiciary’s verdict in Dr Aafia Siddiqui case therefore the US government should take steps in this regard.

Discussing about the Indian proposal for dialogue with Pakistan, the PML-N Quaid said that all the issues with India should be resolved through dialogue while the US Government should play its active role by putting pressure on India Government to solve the Kashmir issue. The US Envoy also appreciated the current move by the governments of both sides.
PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif said that dialogue with all the stakeholders of Afghanistan was the need of the current situation while the other issues like Education, Health, Funds and Infrastructure should also be solved on priority basis.
The PML-N Quaid also urged the US Ambassador that US Government should provide assistance to Pakistan in the fields of Education, Health, Agriculture and Livestock. Mian Nawaz Sharif further said that Pakistan Army has sacrificed a lot in the war against terror therefore the International Community should compensate with Pakistan and to succeed in the war against terror the world should support Pakistan financially.
During the meeting the US Envoy appreciated Pakistan’s effort in war against terror and said that US would continue its support for strengthening the democracy in Pakistan. The US Ambassador further said that US considered Pakistan its friend and its role in war against terror was obvious. The Ambassador also admired the initiative taken by Punjab Government for the welfare of people.
The Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and senior leader Khawaja Asif were also present in the meeting while the former US Principle Officer Brian D Hunt was also present along with the US Ambassador. The meeting continued for two hours.
