PM predicts good news on 17th amendment soon
RAIWIND: The breakfast meeting between Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif has concluded, Geo news reported.
Earlier, PM Gilani was accorded warm welcome by Sharif Brothers on his arrival in Raiwind. While, Nawaz Sharif son Hussain Nawaz and the senior leader PML-N Ishaq Dar were also present on the occasion.
Also, the meeting was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif and other senior leaders of PML-N.
The issues pertaining to current political situation, Charter of Democracy (CoD), repeal of 17th amendment from constitution of Pakistan, accountability bill, good governance, grievances of common men, foreign policy, contacts with US and NATO and resumption of Indo-Pak ties came under discussion during the meeting, sources said.
PM Gilani said that he wanted to stick to the government’s policy of reconciliation, predicting a good news relating to 17th amendment soon, sources told media.
The premier said: “I want to work jointly with PML-N for the supremacy of constitution and strength of democracy in Pakistan.”
During the meeting, Mian Nawaz Sharif urged upon PM Gilani that government should work sincerely to address the plights of common men.
Government should soon proceed towards the restoration of transparent accountability system as decided in the Charter of Democracy (CoD), Nawaz demanded asking for concrete actions against those who are found guilty of sabotaging law and constitution of Pakistan.
