Act seriously, Nawaz urges government
LAHORE: PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said there is no room for corruption in society and the government should act seriously to curb the challenges being faced by the nation.
Nawaz expressed these views while addressing the party meeting here on Saturday. He reiterated his demand for stern action against the murderers of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and the people involved in the writing off of loans.
Nawaz said the PML-N would continue the politics of principles and the elements, who had shown disloyalties, would never be encouraged. He said corruption could never be encouraged in any society, urging the rulers to address the grievances of the people.
He said despite being a nuclear power, people were still facing various problems and now the PML-N would address these issues.
He urged the party workers to get ready for the upcoming local bodies’ polls and hoped that the PML-N would make a clean sweep in the upcoming elections.
On the occasion, Nawaz said the PML-N believes in transparent politics and would give a new vision to the nation by overcoming the problems of education, poverty, health and economy.
Nawaz said the PML-N’s think-tank and the committees, set up to tackle different issues, were actively and silently utilising its energies to meet the regional and international challenges faced by the country.
The PML-N Quaid said his party is a major political force which enjoyed the support of masses. He also assured his party members that those who served as Musharraf’s supporters would not be given any place in the PML-N, adding, the committed party workers would be srespected.
PML-N Punjab President Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, central leaders of the party, including Sartaj Aziz, Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, MNAs Khwaja Saad Rafique, Ayaz Amir, Rana Tanvir, Senator Begum Najma Hameed, provincial Minister Rana Sana Ullah and other party members attended the meeting.
