For the PML-N, he said, the exercise of waiting is not anything new, and this time too, it would let the government complete its term to see the change in the rule through constitutional and legal means.
Nawaz while referring to President Asif Ali Zardari said Zardari and his ‘friends’ must realise the fact that continuation of democracy and its stability are vital for the integrity and stability of the country. Nawaz Sharif reiterated his demand for holding a probe into the award of commissions and kickbacks to the tune of $49.50 million in the French submarines deal concluded in 1994 during the second term of Benazir Bhutto government. He called upon the government to set up a body to look into the allegations to pinpoint the persons belonging to political, civil and military quarters at the relevant time who allegedly received commissions and kickbacks in the said deal, adding that their names must be made public. Underscoring the need of taking strict action against the recipients of the money, which he said, belonged to the masses.
